Bestiary - Venus Pitcher
First entry for the Trials in Tainted Space Bestiary, the Venus Pitcher. These creatures lure humanoids in to range with mind clouding pollen and sexual advances.Once the victim is in range they’re dropped down in to a tendril filled pit either for seeding or protein extraction. If this victim has already been seeded by another Venus Pitcher, the seed is fertilized and a short term later the victim produces a large seed pod that eventually grows in to a full grown Venus Pitcher….after it scuttles off of course.
The one on the left is a typical Venus Pitcher, but some get old enough where they develop a strengthened power set and more extravagant appearance. These are simply referred to as Elder Venus Pitchers.
